Chandigarh, October 10
The Chandigarh Tourism has taken the initiative to develop new gardens in the city to attract more tourists and also to enhance the image of Chandigarh as the “City of Gardens and Greens”.

A meeting regarding reviewing of tourism projects for upgrading and beautification of various tourists places in Chandigarh was held recently under the chairmanship of Home Secretary Ram Niwas. During the meeting, the ongoing projects were discussed and it was apprised that the work regarding parking of vehicles near the regulatory end of the Sukhna Lake would be completed by November-end.

It has been decided that the island at the Sukhna Lake will now be adorned by planting extra flowers so as to give a look of flowerbed floating in the lake.
