Chandigarh witnessed the longest cold weather conditions along with fog and mist in the last five years.
As per the met records, during this winter season, the city experienced fog and mist for 20 days while during the last five years, the maximum number of days used to vary between a week and 10 days.
This season, cold conditions were experienced for 22 days while the last five years saw chilly weather for about 10 to 12 days, as per the met record.
Director, Met Department, Surinder Pal Singh said till the mid of February, there would not be much relief from cold conditions and fog. He said rain was expected in the first week of February, following which city residents would get relief as far as fog was concerned but cold conditions would persist.
As per Met forecast, there will be fog during morning and night over the next four days, due to which the visibility would be restricted to 50 to 100 metre only. There will be partly cloudy sky along with fog during day and night tomorrow.
