All judges of the District Courts in Sector 43 observed a vehicle-free day on Tuesday. This was done as part of an initiative for a cleaner and pollution-free environment by reducing congestion on the road.
While a majority of the judges reached the courts in the morning on their bicycles, some arrived on foot. Some judges took the CTU bus to reach the District Courts. The day was observed by all public prosecutors. In addition, a large number of advocates and employees cycled their way to the courts.“It is a very good initiative and we plan to hold vehicle-free days at regular intervals. In my college days, I used to travel by bus and the today’s experience reminded me of those days. It was awesome,” said Judicial Magistrate Dazy Bangarh. The Judges were escorted by the policemen on bicycles.
