SUBJECT :Kerosene Free City

The Chandigarh Administration has decided to declare Chandigarh a kerosene-free city in March this year.

The distribution of subsidised kerosene in Chandigarh will be stopped and its depots across the city will be shut next month. Resultantly, there would be no supply of kerosene from April onwards.

Meanwhile, the UT Food and Supplies Department has decided to facilitate the households presently using kerosene in switching to LPG as an alternative fuel. For the purpose, the process of issuing free-of-cost LPG connection to eligible beneficiaries has already been started.

The department will also hold series of the camps for the purpose.
