Over one lakh people will participate in International Yoga Day events in the city as the Administration has started preparations to make the day historic.

Sources said besides holding the main event in which the Prime Minister will  attend the yoga  session, the Administration was planning to hold  parallel   functions all over the  city  simultaneously.  This has been planned to give  an opportunity  to all those who want to be part of the historic event as the Capitol Complex  has limited capacity.

Home Secretary Anurag  Agrawal held a meeting with representatives of yoga  training  centres and NGOs today. The sources said it was decided that approximately 1,000 teachers would train those interested in teaching yoga to residents further. The  classes would be held all over the city, including public parks, community   centers  and at schools  and colleges.

The Administration has also written to Punjab and Haryana to ensure the participation of 10,000  persons  each.
