SUBJECT :Environmental Days 

 Students of St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, celebrated World Population Day. With vibrant green dupattas in hands, the students and residents of Sector 44 made a human chain in the green belt of Sector 44.

Special Assembly

Students of AKSIPS 41 Smart School celebrated World Population Day. A special assembly was conducted by the students of Class VIII on the occasion.

Eco-Club Day

The Tiger Eco-Club of Government Senior Secondary School, Raipur Khurd, in collaboration with Alliance Club Chandigarh- Supreme-121 celebrated Eco-Club Day to conclude “Van Mahotsava Week”.

Counselling Session

An awareness-cum-counseling session on overseas education options was conducted at DAV Public School, Sector 8, for students of Class XII.

Awareness Session

An awareness session was organised at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 19, in association with the State Legal Service Authority, Chandigarh. Students of Panjab University made school students aware of the importance of University Institute of Legal Studies and free legal aid.

Bal Vatika

Government Model High School, Sector 34 initiated a ‘go-green’ project for students by opening a “bal vatika” on the school premises. Students brought sadabahar plants (periwinkle) as head of the institution Dr Vinod Sharma threw light on its medicinal values before the summer vacation.

Drawing Competition

Bhavan Vidyalaya Junior, Sector 33, conducted a drawing competition to encourage the creative skills of students of KG class. Children participated with enthusiasm and drew their favourite cartoon characters. 

Chi Kwon do Championship

Hardik Loona of Class IX and Tanvi Thakur of Class VI at St Xavier`s Senior Secondary School, brought laurels by winning silver medals in respective categories in Indo- Nepal Chi Kwon do Championship organised by the Nepal Sports Council at Kathmandu.

Awareness Campaign

The Citizens Awareness Group and International Human Rights Council in collaboration with the Department of Forest and Environment Chandigarh Administration undertook tree plantation-cum-environment awareness campaign at Gurukul Global School, Manimajra. 

Colouring Activity

To impart wings to the imagination and innovative minds of young artists, nursery students of DC Model Sr Sec School, Sector 7, Panchkula, participated in a coloring activity. 

Spell Bee Competition

Valley Public School, Panchkula, organised an inter-house spell bee competition. Among all four houses, Nilgiri House of the schoolbagged the first position in the competition, while Aravali House and Vindhyanchal House stood second.

Personality Development Camp

Students of Gem Public Senior Secondary School, Mohali, indulged in various activities during summer vacation. Around 15 students from classes VIII to X attended a personality development camp organised by the Association of Gurmat Studies at Dehradun.

Pool Party

Ashmah International School, Sector 70, Mohali, organised a splash pool party on the campus. The pool was decorated with colourful balls and toys. Teachers told the importance of fruits, juices, lassi and curd.

Activity

Students of Sri Sukhmani International School, Dera Bassi, Mohali, participated in an activity, ‘preparation of carry bags’. All kids of Class VIII participated in it. They prepared carry bags using stones, newspapers, lace, handmade sheets and dupattas.— TNS
