Chandigarh, August 12
The Union Territory is all set to get a 24-hour tourism enquiry number that would handle queries relating to the timing and facilities offered at tourist places, among other services.

The Department of Tourism has appointed ‘Top Gear’, a local agency, to handle the ‘infoline’, which would handle queries round-the-clock.

Confirming this, director of Tourism Department Vivek Atray said, “We have asked the company to seek a telephone number that can be memorised easily and this number will be announced later this week. The centre will be equipped to handle queries of sightseers from all over the country.”

The centre will address queries pertaining to tourist places including Rock Garden, museums, theatres and art galleries, among others. The enquiry would also help people with information about the bus, train and air services to the city.
