Chandigarh, April 14
To mark the World Heritage Day, departments of tourism and education, Chandigarh administration, in association with INTACH will organise a Heritage Walk on April 18.

The walk will be flagged off from the Open Hand Monument at 6.30 am and it will culminate at Rock Garden covering a distance of 2 km.

To generate awareness among students of various schools, a cleanliness drive will be held on April 20 at Sukhna Lake from 7 am till 9 am.

The week-long celebrations of the heritage week will conclude with an essay competition to be held on April 23 at Government Senior Secondary School, Sector 10.

Tourism Secretary Ram Niwas said on World Heritage Day, they wanted city residents to come together and share a common platform and spread message.
